Different services that penetrate separating elements — cables, cable bundles, plastic and steel pipes, pipes with/without insulation — require different penetration sealing products and systems. The simple reason for this is that various penetrating materials react in different ways when exposed to the heat of fire and hot gases. Where seals are expected to perform a load bearing function or where movement of services may occur due to thermal expansion/contraction, should be the focus of additional, close attention.
